FALL/WINTER 2008-9 Completed the design and development of a website for Ox Bow Decor,
featuring prints that are 'a fresh twist on the vintage botanical'. TransCultural Exchange's Tile Project, Destination: The World, installations at Kanoria Centre for Arts, Ahmedabad, India and KU Art Center, Beijing July 2008. Field Report: A members' exhibition of the Boston Printmakers, Brickbottom Gallery September 7 - October 18, 2008. Field Report: Work by members of The Boston Printmakers, Gallery at Barrington Center for the Arts, March 8 - April 15, 2008. New England Impressions: Exploring the Woodcut, Concord Art Association, March 27 - May 3, 2008. Printmaking, Gallery Wright, Wilmington VT April 2008. Annie Silverman, Sandra Butler, and I joined forces to open Abrazos Press, a professional and teaching studio for printmaking located at 11 Miller St. in Somerville. We have a 30x60 Takach press and, in addition to producing our own artwork, we will offer classes in woodcut, monotype, book arts, and computer skills for artists. Neiman Marcus bought a series of my prints for their corporate collection and they are on display at the new Natick Collection location, along with art by several other Boston area artists. The Neiman Marcus Collection was begun by Stanley Marcus in the early 1950's and includes works by Alexander Calder, Diego Rivera, and Georgia O'Keefe (!) Fidelity Investments has also bought a series of my prints for their corporate collection.

SPRING/SUMMER 2006 I was the happy recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Grant for 2006! June 2006's issue of The Middlesex Beat featured on me and my work, along with coverage of several other local artists. To view the article, click here (full spread, PDF) or here (single page, PDF) Two gallery shows: Massachusetts College of Art's Paine Gallery June 1 - June 21; and the Danforth Museum, June 15 - July 30. Group show Drama of Scale: Prints from Mixit Print Studio at the Carney Gallery, Regis College, March 14 - April 20. I was at Mixit Print Studio for this year's Somerville Open Studios, May 6 & 7. We all had a great time! FALL/WINTER 2005-6 I enjoyed a wonderful and productive month-long Artist Residency at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village Colorado and will be returning there for two weeks this coming summer. I first went to Anderson Ranch with the help of a St. Botolph's Club Foundation grant last summer and studied Japanese Woodblock printmaking with Hiroki Morinoue. I was part of the group show I Protest at HallSpace Gallery in the South End, November 19 - January 7. I participated in two group print portfolios: Print Zero Studios' Print Exchange III which was exhibited in multiple locations during the fall and winter; and Under the Influence, sponsored by the Arizona State University Graduate Printmaking Seminar: 16 artists were invited to create an editioned print influenced by a title suggested by someone other than the artist creating the print... mine is called "Moon Mission." SUMMER 2005 The Boston Printmakers' North American Biennial, Boston, MA. Solo show of Recent Prints at Sister Sorel, S.End Boston Received a Grant-in-Aid artist fellowship from the St. Botolph Club Foundation. Contributed three prints to The Dictionary Project, conceived and curated by Annie Silverman. The show was at Brickbottom Gallery, received much press, and was a lot of fun to participate in! An identity system I designed for V Pliant was featured in two Rockport Publishing books that included a profile of the project and of Dynamo Design. |
